Original post:

Dear friends, I will be taking part in a dialogue at Bras Basah Complex this Saturday at 230pm alongside Alex Au, Braema Mathi, Derek Da Cunha, Jack Lee and Rafiz Hapipi, organised by MARUAH, a Singapore Human Rights NGO (no, that’s not an oxymoron).

Please sign up here. For those interested, my two books, Floating on a Malayan Breeze and Hard Choices: Challenging the Singapore Consensus, will be available there.

Hope to see you!

Post-elections forum – What’s at Stake?

On 11 September 2015, over 2.3 million Singaporeans went to the polls to elect their 13th Parliament, the very first time since Independence that all Parliamentary seats were being contested giving all eligible voters the opportunity to elect their representative at what has turned out to be a truly watershed election.

MARUAH would like to invite you to a forum, which will be led by a group of experts who will talk to us on General Elections 2015 and what it means for our democracy and parliamentary development.

The Forum will take place as follows (these are the new, updated details)

Date:   19 Sep 2015 [Sat]
Time:   3pm – 7pm
Venue: 9 Penang Road, #13-03 Park Mall

The speakers are as follows:
Mr Alex Au, Blogger
Dr Derek Da Cunha, Political Analyst and Author
Dr Jack Lee, Law lecturer
Mr Rafiz Hapipi, MARUAH Election Watch
Mr Sudhir Thomas Vadaketh, Author and Blogger

The panel discussion will be moderated by MARUAH. We are also hoping for an interactive debate on the issue of General Elections in Singapore and would like to make some key recommendations.

Please sign up via this link by Friday 18 September 2015.

We look forward to seeing you at the forum.
